JSW Neo Energy Limited (or JSW Neo), a wholly-owned subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, has recently received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) for establishing a 300 MW Solar Power Project at Pavagada Solar Park, Karnataka. This new venture marks a significant step in the company’s ambitious growth strategy.
Shares of JSW Energy saw an uptick, trading higher by 0.33% at Rs 707.10 per share. During the trading session, the stock reached an intraday high of Rs 726 per share on the NSE. This positive movement on Monday has turned the stock’s performance into positive territory for the year 2024.
With the addition of this project, JSW Energy’s total locked-in capacity will increase to 15.5 GW. The company is on track to achieve an installed generation capacity of 10 GW by FY25, up from the current 7.5 GW. This growth underscores JSW Energy’s commitment to expanding its renewable energy portfolio.
JSW Energy boasts a diversified energy portfolio, encompassing 7.5 GW of operational capacity and 2.3 GW under construction across various sources, including wind, thermal, and hydro. The company has a renewable energy (RE) pipeline of 5.7 GW, with Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) signed for 2.0 GW. Furthermore, JSW Energy has locked in 3.7 GWh of energy storage capacity through battery energy storage systems and hydro pumped storage projects.
Looking ahead, JSW Energy aims to achieve a total generation capacity of 20 GW and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030. In line with global sustainability trends, the company has set an ambitious target of attaining carbon neutrality by 2050, reflecting its commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable growth.
