Early Salary Disbursement: West Bengal Govt Moves Ahead of Durga Puja

To ensure smooth festive preparations, the West Bengal government has announced that employees will receive their September salaries earlier than usual, as per the PTI. This decision aims to provide financial ease before the Durga Puja celebrations, one of the most significant festivals in the state.
Early Salary Disbursement Before Festivities
The West Bengal government has decided to release September salaries in advance, considering the Durga Puja holidays that begin on September 26. Employees are expected to receive payments on September 24 and 25, according to a circular issued by the state Finance Department.
Coverage Beyond Regular Salaries
The notification clarified that the early disbursement will not be restricted to regular salaries alone. It will also cover grant-in-aid payments, wages, remuneration, stipends, and honorariums. This ensures that a wider section of employees and beneficiaries will be able to access funds before the festive period.
Pension Payment Remains Unchanged
While employees will receive their salaries early, pension disbursement will follow the existing schedule. The circular confirmed that pensions for September will be credited on October 1.
