Post Office Savings Alert: Get Your Name Printed on Cheque Books for Free Now!

Post Office Savings Account holders can now get personalised cheque books with their names printed on them free of cost. In a customer-friendly move, the Department of Posts has launched the Personalised Cheque Book (PCB) facility for Post Office Savings Account (POSA) customers.

The new facility aims to improve security, convenience, and bring Post Office banking services closer to the standards offered by commercial banks.

Earlier, cheque books issued by post offices did not carry customer-specific details. With this latest update, customers can now receive cheque books with pre-printed account information, making transactions safer and more professional.

What Details Will Be Printed on The Cheque Book?

Under the new system, the Department of Posts will issue cheque books carrying customer details directly on the cheque leaves. This will include details of the account holder’s name, their Savings Account Number, and the IFSC Code. 

How To Apply for the Free Personalised Cheque Book?

In the initial phase, customers will have to visit their nearest post office branch to request the personalised cheque book.

The Department has also confirmed that the service will soon be available through Internet Banking and Mobile Banking platforms, making the application process more convenient for account holders.

Customers are advised to ensure that their registered address is updated in post office records, as the cheque books will be delivered directly to the latest address available in the system.

The Department clarified that both facilities will continue, allowing customers to choose according to their preference.
