Who Can Apply for the SBI Asha Scholarship 2025-26? Detailed Eligibility for All Categories

The SBI Foundation’s Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship for 2025-26 aims to promote academic excellence among students from financially weaker families across India. The initiative covers multiple education levels, from school to postgraduate and professional programs, offering crucial financial aid to empower deserving students.
For School Students (Classes 9–12)
Applicants must be Indian nationals currently studying in Classes 9 to 12 with a minimum of 75% marks in the previous academic year. A 10% relaxation (67.5%) is allowed for SC/ST students. The gross annual family income should not exceed ₹3,00,000. Additionally, 50% of the slots are reserved for females and 50% for SC/ST students. Applicants must have an SBI Bank account to apply.
For Undergraduate Students
Open for Indian nationals pursuing undergraduate studies in premier colleges or universities ranked among the Top 300 in the NIRF rankings. Students must have secured at least 7 CGPA or 75% marks, with a maximum family income of ₹6,00,000 per year.
For Postgraduate Students
Applicants pursuing postgraduate degrees from India’s top 300 NIRF-ranked institutions are eligible. They must have scored 7 CGPA or 75% marks and have a family income of up to ₹6,00,000.
For Medical, IIT, and IIM Students
Students from recognised medical colleges, IITs, and IIMs (any academic year) are eligible if they have scored 7 CGPA/75% marks and have a family income not exceeding ₹6,00,000. These categories are open to Indian nationals only.
For Overseas Students (SC/ST Category)
This category is open to Indian nationals belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes pursuing postgraduate or higher studies at international institutions ranked in the Top 200 by QS or THE World University Rankings for 2024-25. Applicants must have a minimum of 7 CGPA/75% marks and a family income up to ₹6,00,000.
