Eternal plans to increase the pace of Blinkit’s expansion from the December quarter, with most new stores expected to open in smaller cities.

As per news reports, the company has raised its March 2027 target to more than 3,500 stores from 3,000 earlier. It aims to reach around 5,000 stores by March 2028, compared with 2,751 at the end of September 2026.

Order Value and Margins Increase

Blinkit’s net order value (NOV) rose 79.3% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹20,940 crore in Q2 FY27. Its adjusted EBITDA margin increased to 0.9% from 0.6% in the previous quarter, while adjusted operating profit rose to ₹184 crore from ₹102 crore.

Chief Financial Officer Akshant Goyal said the company did not expect faster store additions to reduce margins in the short term. He attributed the expansion plans to a more predictable competitive environment and improving store economics in smaller markets.

Revenue Rises, Profit Below Estimates

According to an exchange filing dated October 21, 2026, Eternal’s revenue increased 77.6% YoY to ₹24,138 crore in Q2 FY27, against the estimated ₹23,921 crore. Consolidated net profit nearly doubled to ₹125 crore but missed the average estimate of ₹271 crore. Consolidated EBITDA stood at ₹750 crore.

The effective tax rate rose to 61% after tax benefits from carried-forward losses were exhausted. As a result, future standalone profits will be taxed at the full rate.

Zomato Margins and Order Values

Zomato’s NOV increased 21.5% YoY to ₹11,445 crore, while adjusted operating profit rose 25% to ₹627 crore. Its adjusted EBITDA margin declined to 5.5% of NOV from the previous quarter.

Eternal expects food-delivery margins to remain broadly stable over the next one to two years as spending continues on customer acquisition and order frequency. The company has set a long-term target of annual NOV growth above 20%.

Hyperpure, District and Dark.ai

Hyperpure revenue grew 22.7% YoY, and its adjusted EBITDA margin improved to 0.9% from -0.5% a year earlier. Its restaurant network increased to 85,000.

District is targeting adjusted EBITDA breakeven within four to six quarters from January 2026. Eternal also unveiled Dark.ai, a privacy-focused AI service it hopes to launch globally by the end of 2026.
