Why Larsen & Toubro Share Price Jumped Over 8% Today?

Larsen & Toubro share price surged over 8% during trading, hitting an intraday high of about ₹4,024. The stock was trading near ₹3,986, outperforming the broader BSE Sensex, which rose around 3.4%.
Ceasefire Eases Middle East Concerns
The main trigger for the rally was improved sentiment after the US-Iran ceasefire announcement.
L&T earns more than 35% of its revenue from the Middle East, making the region crucial for its business. Reduced geopolitical tensions lowered fears of project disruptions and boosted investor confidence.
Limited Impact on Current Projects
The company clarified that 95% of its 100+ project sites in West Asia remain operational, while only 5% of projects are temporarily paused near conflict zones.
Management said these paused projects do not significantly impact revenue right now. However, if logistics issues continue for over 3 months, some revenue may be delayed.
Strong Order Book from the Region
West Asia remains a key growth driver for L&T:
- 33% of total revenue comes from the region
- 37% of the ₹7.33 trillion order backlog is from West Asia
- About one-third of the ₹3.46 trillion order inflows in 9MFY26 came from the region
No major project cancellations or payment delays have been reported so far.

Conclusion
The ceasefire has reduced near-term risks for L&T’s Middle East projects, improving investor sentiment. With strong order inflows and expansion into new sectors, the company’s long-term outlook remains positive.
