About Deepak Nitrite

Deepak Nitrite Ltd is engaged in the manufacturing of basic intermediates, fine and speciality chemicals, performance products, and phenolics. It was Incorporated in 1970 by C.K. Mehta and S.S. Aggarwal with an objective to manufacture sodium nitrite, sodium nitrate, and other allied chemicals, hexamethylene tetramine, dyes, and dyes intermediates. In 1979, the company commissioned a plant for the production of formaldehyde for captive consumption in the DNPT. In 1985, the company installed a plant to manufacture 900 tonnes of guanidine nitrate and 600 tonnes of hydroxylamine sulphate at Nandesari. The company continued its growth trajectory, and phase I of the Nitroaromatics project was commissioned in 1992. It acquired a 68.76% stake in Aryan Pesticides Ltd (APL) in 2000. The company launched products in the Fuel Additive space in 2010 to grow its product categories. It commenced the first stream for commercial production of Optical Brightening Agents (OBA)  in 2013. The company was conferred with the National Best Employer Brands 2019 award by the Global Employer Branding Institute and World HRD Congress. In 2021, the company received the prestigious Forbes Asia Best Under Billion Top 200 Award for the year 2020.

  • Deepak Nitrite: Under this segment, the company manufactures chemical intermediates to serve the domestic and international markets with high-quality products.
  • Deepak Phenolics: The company operates this segment through the phenol-acetone plant located in Dahej, Gujarat.

Subsidiaries

  • Deepak Phenolics Limited (DPL): It is a wholly owned material subsidiary of Deepak Nitrite. It is engaged in the business of manufacturing Phenol, Acetone and Iso Propyl Alcohol (IPA).
  • Deepak Chem Tech Limited (DCTL): It is a wholly-owned subsidiary formerly known as Deepak Clean Tech Limited. The company is implementing projects for manufacturing various intermediate chemical products.
  • Deepak Nitrite Corporation Inc. (DNC): It is a wholly owned subsidiary based in the United States. It was set up for the marketing needs of the company in North and South America.
