Apollo Hospitals has announced a strategic expansion plan with a new 500-bed hospital in Mumbai’s premium Worli district, establishing a strong presence in one of India’s key metro areas.

This facility, set to open within four years, aims to complement Apollo’s existing multispecialty centre in Navi Mumbai, solidifying its position as a leading healthcare provider for Mumbai residents.

The planned Worli hospital will redefine healthcare by integrating advanced diagnostic tools, cutting-edge robotic surgeries, and specialised treatments in cardiology, oncology, gynaecology, neurology, orthopaedics, and more. Known for its Centers of Excellence, Apollo will focus on both routine and emergency care, leveraging international-grade medical equipment and highly trained doctors from India and abroad. In line with its commitment to accessible healthcare, Apollo’s Worli facility promises world-class treatment at a fraction of international costs, making quality healthcare affordable and dependable.

Expanding in Lucknow

Beyond Mumbai, Apollo Hospitals is also expanding its presence in Lucknow by increasing the capacity of its current facility to 500 beds. This expansion will add 200 beds to the hospital, located on an additional 1.2-acre plot adjacent to the existing site, and is expected to be operational in three years. Together, these expansions reflect Apollo’s commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure in high-demand regions.

Expansion Plans in India

Overall, Apollo Hospitals has plans to increase its bed capacity by over 3,500 beds (with ~2,877 operational beds) across 11 different locations in India within the next four years. The remaining ₹4,400 crore is expected to be invested over the next 3-4 years, funded through internal accruals and existing resources.

Apollo Hospitals’ Managing Director, Ms Suneeta Reddy, added that with these two additional expansions, they plan to increase their overall capacity beds by over 3,500 over the next 4 years beginning FY26.

On November 4, 2024, Apollo Hospitals share price opened at ₹7,090.00, touching the day’s low at ₹6,957.50, as of 9:43 AM on the NSE.
