Global Health Signs O&M Pact for 750 Bed Hospital in Delhi

Global Health Ltd., the team behind Medanta Hospitals, has just announced a major project: a 750-bed super-specialty hospital in Pitampura, New Delhi. In a new partnership with the Dr.Narayan Dutt Shrimali Foundation International Charitable Trust Society, Medanta will look at operations, while the foundation will focus on building the hospital and setting up the infrastructure. 

What’s the Deal About?

Under this new operations and management (O&M) agreement, the foundation will be responsible for constructing the hospital building and related civil infrastructure. Meanwhile, Medanta will handle the essential internal fit-outs, covering everything from mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) installations to medical equipment and furniture. This part of the project will cost Medanta roughly Rs.600 crore, funded through a mix of their own resources and debt.

Long-Term Vision

Medanta will have full control over the hospital’s day-to-day operations, starting off with an initial 30-year term that can be extended if both parties agree. This means that Medanta’s commitment to this project is far from short-lived, they’re in it for the long duration, and that aligns with their broader goal of making quality healthcare accessible for years to come.

The new facility, spread across 7 acres with a built-up area of 7.6 lakh square feet, promises to be a one-stop destination for comprehensive healthcare services. With over 30 super specialities, the hospital will cater to cardiac care, neurosciences, oncology, orthopaedics, digestive and hepatobiliary sciences, and will even offer advanced treatments like multispecialty robotic surgeries and a full range of transplants.

Global Health Ltd. is trading at Rs.1,095.00, up 1.94% today, with a 15.10% gain year-to-date and a 31.80% increase over the past year.
