Ola Electric, India’s largest dedicated electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, announced the launch of its new Ola Digital Twin platform to revolutionise its manufacturing and product development processes.
Built using NVIDIA Omniverse, the Ola Digital Twin platform combines Krutrim AI and NVIDIA technology, advanced simulation, and IoT tools to create a detailed digital replica of Ola’s manufacturing environment. This helps Ola streamline the planning and optimisation of its manufacturing plants, improve equipment setup, and speed up product development while integrating AI-based quality inspection.
The platform uses realistic simulations and generative AI for tasks like motion simulations and creating synthetic image data, which trains autonomous robots used in manufacturing. Integrating NVIDIA Omniverse—an advanced set of APIs, SDKs, and services that support Universal Scene Description (OpenUSD) for physical AI—and NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Ola Electric has cut time-to-market by more than 20% from design to final production at its Futurefactory.
Ola has implemented the Digital Twin in its robotic welding lines, allowing virtual testing of new processes before physical deployment and improving efficiency and accuracy. Developers can generate synthetic assets, such as lighting and environment scenes, using generative AI tools, enabling them to train perception AI models faster. The platform also includes thermal simulations for creating advanced data centres and liquid-cooling systems at Ola’s Krutrim facilities.
Ola Consumer has further utilised NVIDIA Isaac Sim to train robot pick-and-place operations in automated dark stores. The robots are trained in virtual environments to handle complex tasks autonomously, supporting Ola’s inventory management.
Ola Electric Mobility Limited is India’s top EV producer, focused on technology and manufacturing integration, including battery cell production. It operates out of the Ola Futurefactory, where it manufactures EVs and key components like battery packs and motors. With research centres in India, the UK, and the US, Ola drives innovation in EV technology, while its EV hub in Tamil Nadu, encompassing the Ola Futurefactory and soon-to-open Ola Gigafactory, advances the industry.
On October 25, 2024, Ola Electric Mobility Limited’s share price opened at ₹80.05, touching the day’s low at ₹77.55, as of 10:09 AM on the NSE.
