The Government of India incorporated Rail Vikas Nigam Limited in 2003. The concession agreement that the company entered into with the Ministry of Railways stipulates that the company shares freight revenue with Railways. Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd was the Lowest Bidder (L1) for the Nagpur Metro Rail Project (NMRP) Phase-2 construction of metro stations, which was awarded by Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. The project will be built in two sections: three in Reach 4A (Pardi, Kapsi Khurd, and Transport Nagar) and seven elevated metro stations in Reach 3A (Hingna Mount View, Rajiv Nagar, Wanadongri, APMC, Raipur, Hingna Bus Station, and Hingna). The contract is worth Rs 270.01 crore (including GST) and has a 30-month completion date.
RVNL was the lowest bidder on an East Coast Railway project that was announced during the first week of October. The company has been awarded the lowest bid for the MCRL Internal Corridor Phase-I doubling project, which includes the construction of a new line between Angul and Balram and the third and fourth lines between Jarapada & Talcher Road.
This order covers the following: balance earthwork in formation; minor and major bridges; P.way linking works; supply of ballast; S&T buildings; level crossings; and other miscellaneous works between Jarapada and Talcher road, except station yards related to the third and fourth lines of the Jarapada-Budhapank project and between Angul and Balram, including yards of MRCL Inner corridor Phase-I doubling.
Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. reported revenue of Rs 4064 crore for the first quarter of FY25, according to the quarterly results. For Q1 FY25, the operating profit was recorded at Rs 176 crore, while the net profit was recorded at Rs 218 crore. In terms of yearly performance, the company brought in Rs 21733 crore in FY24 as opposed to Rs 20282 crore in FY23. A net profit of Rs 1463 crore was achieved in FY24, with an operating profit of Rs 1346 crore.
Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd.’s share price reached a high of Rs. 514.65, up more than 7% in the intraday segment. The stock is currently moving steadily, up more than 3% at Rs. 495.20 per share, and up more than 1% yesterday before the close. The stock has produced an amazing multi-bagger return of more than 190% in just one year, with a current market capitalization of Rs 1.05 lakh crore.
