On Wednesday, the benchmark indices were trading red with Sensex down around 371 points or 0.56% at 65,477 and the Nifty-50 down around 51 points or 0.51% at 19,470. About 1,815 shares have advanced, 1,402 declined, and 169 are unchanged on the BSE.
Top gainers and losers on BSE Sensex Index are as follows:
The top Sensex gainers were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Bharti Airtel Ltd and Tech Mahindra whereas the top Sensex losers were ITC Ltd, HCL Technologies Ltd and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.
The BSE Metals Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and BSE Realty Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Metals Index soared 0.50%, led by Apl Apollo Tubes Ltd and Jindal Steel Ltd while the BSE Realty Index was down 1.20% dragged down by Sobha Ltd and DLF Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading mixed, with the BSE Mid-cap index down 0.10% and the BSE Small-cap index up 0.36%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Gland Pharma and JSW Energy Ltd while the top small-cap gainers were Astec Lifesciences Ltd and Ircon International Ltd.
